Greeting by Bill Purcell
To the Citizens of Magdeburg,
I extend greetings to you as Mayor of Nashville and on behalf of all of the citizens of Nashville.
We are quite pleased about the partnership with Magdeburg and future exchanges in education, the arts, and business.
More important, I sense that there are a growing number of private friendships between the citizens of our cities. If the Sister Cities relationship is to succeed in the long term, it will be on the basis of such friendships.
I congratulate you on the construction of the Magdeburg-Nashville website and commend the fine work of the German-American Dialogue Center in bringing this project to fruition.
We look forward to hosting your Mayor, Dr. Lutz Trümper, and the official and unofficial delegations from Magdeburg here in May of this year and to welcoming the first group of school-children from Magdeburg who will be here in July.
I look forward to the possibility of a future visit to your city. All the best to you.
Sincerely
Bill Purcell
Mayor of Nashville
