Magdeburg Students at the UN in New York

Magdeburg Students at the UN in New YorkThe National Model United Nations (NMUN) project group at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg announced that Magdeburg students will be taking part in a United Nations simulation in New York starting on March 22. Out of 70 applicants, 18 students have made it through the selection process since June 2004. They will be advised by six student assistants, who have already taken part in simulations in previous years.

This year, the Magdeburg students will be representing the views of the African country Zambia as well as the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent as a nongovernmental institution. They will sit as their delegates in the original committee and reenact the negotiations on selected issues. Around 3,300 students from all over the world are expected at the simulation project in New York this year.

Afterward the students will fly from New York directly to Nashville, Tennessee. Until April 2 they will enjoy a varied and interesting program put together by Joel Dark and Sister Cities of Nashville. For more information on our partner organization visit “Sister Cities of Nashville”.
